Dear Colleagues,
The Conference on Preventing accidents, dealing with emergencies, coping with casualties - The Education and Training Perspective (PADECC) and the Workshop on Maritime English Preventing accidents, dealing with emergencies, coping w Maritime English Preventing accidents, dealing with emergencies, coping with casualties: The Maritime English Perspective (WOME 10) will take place in Opatija, Croatia, on 18th 21st May 1999.
The city of Opatija is a beautiful sea-resort area, facing the Bay of Rijeka with its marvellous islands. The climate is favourable and the surroundings are really impressive; the city is a unique vacationland, with important historical backgrounds; we are sure that Opatija will provide the proper environment for a successful and enjoyable meeting.
Exchange of ideas and information, an opportunity to make contacts for world co-operation and scientific collaboration are the main goals of this meeting. We are particularly pleased to continue the tradition of bringing together lecturers, experts from the industry, government representatives and scientists in the maritime field.
