To be eligible for any of the above academic programs or majors the candidate must:
- - hold a secondary education certificate (maritime- or technically-related secondary school, grammar/high school); i.e. primary + secondary school education of a total of 12 years, from 5-7 years to the age of 18)
- - pass the admissions exam in Mathematics, Physics, and English
- - be physically qualified
- Majors are selected on registry after passing an admission exam.
- Students can later specialize by choosing from electives and optional subjects.
Associate in Science degree students (nautical, marine engineering department) undergo training on board ship for a four-week term, and obligatory simulator-assisted training in the second year of study.
Grading system: excellent (5), very good (4), good (3), pass (2), fail (1)
Students may be enrolled in a full-time or part-time course of studies.
