1. STCW 1995 COURSES:

(a) Watchkeeping Courses - STCW 1995:

Rijeka Maritime College offers the following preparatory courses for acquiring watchkeeping certificates of competency as per IMO STCW Convention 1978/1995.

Deck Department

- Master of a ship of 3,000 GT or more (STCW II/2, 1-2)
- Chief mate of a ship of 3,000 GT or more (STCW II/2, 1-1)
- Master of a ship up to 3,000 GT (STCW II/2, 3-1)
- Chief mate of a ship up to 3,000 GT (STCW II/2, 3-1)
- Officer in charge of a navigational watch of a ship of 500 GT or more (STCW II/1)
- Master of a ship up to 500 GT engaged in near-coastal voyages (area of navigation No. 3) (STCW II/3, 2)
- Officer in charge of a navigational watch of a ship up to 500 GT engaged in near-coastal voyages (area of navigation No. 3) (STCW II/3, 1)
- Rating forming a part of a navigational watch (STCW II/4)
- Master of a ship up to 200 GT engaged in near-coastal voyages (area of navigation No. 6)
- Skipper
Engine-room Department
- Chief engineer officer on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kW propulsion power or more (STCW III/2)
- Second engineer officer on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kW propulsion power or more (STCW III/2, 1)
- Chief engineer officer on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery up to 3,000 kW propulsion power (STCW III/3)
- Officer in charge of an engineering watch on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more (STCW III/1)
- Rating forming a part of an engineering watch in a manned engine-room (STCW III/4)
- Officer in charge of an engineering watch on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery up to 750 kW propulsion power (STCW III/1) engaged in near-coastal voyages (area of navigation No. 5)
Marine Electronics and Maritime Communications:
- Radio electronic officer 1st class (STCW IV/2, 1)
- Radio electronic officer 2st class (STCW IV/2, 2)
- General operator certificate STCW IV/2-3)
- Restricted operator certificate STCW IV/2-2)
b) SUPPLEMENTARY CERTIFICATES OF COMPETENCE (STCW 1995)
- Certificate of competence in advanced fire-fighting (STCW VI/3)
- Oil tanker familiarization certificate (STCW V/1/1-1)
- Chemical tanker familiarization certificate (STCW V/1/1-3)
- Liquefied gas tanker familiarization (STCW V/1/1-3)
- Certificate of competence in advanced oil tanker operations (STCW V/1/2-1)
- Certificate of competence in advanced chemical tanker operations (STCW V/1/2-3)
- Certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats operation (STCW VI/2-1)
- Certificate of proficiency in fast rescue boats operation (STCW VI/2-2)
- Medical first aid certificate (STCW VI/4-1)
- Advanced medical care certificate (STCW VI/4-2)
- Certificate on ro-ro passenger ship safety (STCW V/2)
- Certificate on Passenger ship safety (STCW V/3)
- Certificate of competence in dangerous goods handling (STCW B-V/4,5)
- Certificate of competence for high speed craft (HSC) (STCW *)

Certification exams are held by the authorized bodies of the Ministry of Navigation, Traffic and Communications of Croatia in co-operation and with the participation of the Rijeka Maritime College. Courses and exams for Dual Purpose Officers are planned in the near future.

(c) Other courses

Special-purpose courses other than STCW are also offered at request, such as:

-Shipboard Computer Management (basic and advanced),
